The reason for Being Tried

Let’s Give God Some Praise!

How many times have you look at your life and your circumstances and wonder privately to yourself when will all this drama and confusion stop, when will life seem like things are finally going to fall in order? And did you ever say to yourself I just don’t know how much more of this I can take? Where is my God and why does it seem like I have so much to bare?

Well for those of you that are honest enough to admit that you have had those thought in the past or are experiencing those thoughts presently, this sermon is for you.

Because I need you to know that the trying of your life is by the design purpose of our Lord. For if you knew what I knew you would count it all joy that the Lord has tried you in the manner in which you have gone through.

TODAY I WANT TO IMPRESS UPON YOU ONE OF THE WAYS IN WHICH GOD DEVELOPS HIS PEOPLE.

Zechariah 13:7-9

9  And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.

We have a tendency to look at our lives past and present and then begin to throw ourselves a pity party. For those of you that don’t know what a pity party is: that’s when you begin to make yourself feel miserable about your own self existence here on this earth.

For the most part, most of us suffer and have to deal with the same problem: and that is understanding the adversity that has taken place in our lives. This adversity can range anywhere from a car accident to health issues, from a parking ticket to a  prison commitments, uncontrollable relationship to bad marriages and unruly spouses, uncontrollable children, two facet friends, coworkers and the list can go on and on.

There have been many things that we have encounter while living our lives that we know have been challenges. And not only physical and emotional challenges but has challenge our ability to stand firm on the word of God.

I need to impress this on you see, when you fail to stand firm on the word, and love of God you fail the testing of your own life.

Things get a little rough and you run, and not walk to nearest drug store, liquor store, dope house or prostitution house, whatever it  is that sooths your misery is where you run instead of running to God.

I NEED TO GIVE YOU A WORD Then trials that you are going through! Is part of the refining process of God. He has to take you through something to know that you can endure and stand the challenges of life ahead.

These things have come in your life to make you stronger and not weaker.  The word of God says tried as though they were gold. You see when you are preparing Gold you got to get that smelting pot nice and hot, and that gold is going to reach some unbelievable temperatures.

Well the trials of your life are going to reach some unbelievable degrees, and you are going to have to get into the mindset that you to most be able to stand the pressure of the heat. Anything less than that is not acceptable.

God is trying to build you up for a greater challenge that you are going to have to stand up to. He is trying to get you ready for the battle that has yet been waged in your life.

You are sitting here thinking that you have been through furnace of life but you have not even scratch the surface of refinement.

What you don’t understand is that the refining process doesn’t really get hot until you sell out to God Isaiah says:

Isaiah 48:10 (KJV)
10 Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.

When you were going through and calling of God and none other than God, this is when God heard your cries, and called back unto you and said child I hear your cries and have answered your call.

Let me get ready to wrap this up. You have got to go through in order to be selected by God. And that the trials may not be pleasurable but God says they are for your profit. That means to make you better.

Hebrews 12:4-10 (KJV)
10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

You need to understand the big picture and stop looking at week end picture. I just got paid got some money in pocket what can I get into! That’s devil talk. This is the reason why most of us are failing the testing of our trials right now. You don’t understand the end game that God is preparing you for.
